Welcome to Hiro no Sekai. Seeing the world in its greatest ironies. This blogsite had previously been named as “Heero’s Haven” – as my childhood hero-turned-alter-ego, Heero Yuy, often takes over my persona while this blogsite serves as both my retreat and sanctuary. A website dedicated to both my precious memories and misadventures. Previously rechristened as RAKUGO-ON-LINE. I first learned about rakugo on the first day of a lecture series I attended in Tokyo. It is a Japanese art of story-telling in which the storyteller “paints his/her own story”. It requires a “wealth of imagination”. Only one person performs it usually in theatres and all one needs is a small stage and a cushion. A fan and a handkerchief can serve as the lone props that can become a pair of chopsticks and a plate then transform to a kettle and a tea cup. Effective acting and role playing while employing intense expressions and audience interaction are necessary to serve a great performance. Rakugo has sentimental value to me. I had a fun-full and remarkable lecture-slash-performance in Tokyo and I was even asked to make a performance on-the-spot then. My little stage is the net and my cushion is this site. Allow me to paint you stories of burning emotions with touching imaginations but never a fiction. My every blog is rakugo – expressions are ardent words and the drama is imbibed. The stage is always set – pull open the curtains and sense the passion that’s either killing or resuscitating this teller of tales~ WaRniNg - KeiKoKu aT tiMes, mY weBpaGeS (eSpeCiaLLy bLOgs) maY cOntaiN tRaceS oF eNdoPhoBia bUt aM deFiniTeLy noT uNnatioNaLisTic aT aLL, coNsiDer tHem aS mY oWn meThoD oF paRadoXicaLLy shOwinG mY naTioNaLisM bUt iM pRouDLy a seLf-pRoFessEd JaPaNoPhiLe!
